What is the difference between mac book and mac book air?

I know the difference with the mac book pro but these two laptops ( mac book and mac book air) appear the same and seem like they have the same technology.i don't know which one to buy now!

Early 2011 the new MacBook Pro 15 "Apple MacBook Pro MC723LL is an incredible leap in performance. Every day I deal with a new Mac, and most of the time performance is not great, this new production line is a huge leap in performance, two processors (Quad-Core VS Dual Core) and graphics (care), I bought a 2 GHz low-end models, adding memory to 8G, I'll give VMware's 2 processors and 4G of RAM .. . Windows screams!! for Adobe CS5 work, and more, faster than the dual core.

Edit Sony/Panasonic/JVC/Canon MTS or M2TS shooting to iMovie
Part 1. iMovie 8 and AVCHD AVCHD files
Recently I took some AVCHD files with my Sony SR1 and expect to import to iMovie which is intuitive and easy to comprehend, but my iMovie 8 sees them cut and I can't select them. However, I tried the suggestion from apple forum "copy the .m2ts or .mts files to an external fire wire drive, iMovie 08 detects the drive and opens the import dialog for clip selection.", the result comes that iMovie still does not find it.

Recently I took some AVCHD files with my Sony SR1 and expect to import to iMovie which is intuitive and easy to comprehend, but my iMovie 8 sees them cut and I can't select them. However, I tried the suggestion from apple forum "copy the .m2ts or .mts files to an external fire wire drive, iMovie 08 detects the drive and opens the import dialog for clip selection.", the result comes that iMovie still does not find it.

As an AVCHD camcorder user we are easy to get that there are two types of files. .mts which is the native file on the Sony SR1 and .m2ts which is the file as it is converted (copied) onto your hard drive with the Sony Disk Utility that comes with the SR1, and actually m2ts is based on BDAV MPEG-2 Transport Stream container file format.
